Overview
Pseudoaethalium 3-7 mm tall, black. Sporothecae sessile or sub-sessile, merged basally. Columellae black, slender, tortuous, not reaching to the apex. Capillitium irregular, lax, with an irregular surface-net above where the sporothecae tips are free. Spore-mass black. Spores purple-brown, 12-14 µm diam. including the 0.5 µm border, prominently, irregularly banded-reticulate, forming 8-10 meshes across the diam. On Sphagnum.
